Supporting One Another

Supporting one another

I just recently watched the Netflix series–13 Reasons Why. I won’t give anything away, but this series is one that promotes awareness. Awareness and support for one another, and a sense of ‘checking in’ on one another. We really have no idea what other people are going through, and on the surface, everything may appear totally fine. This is why it is important to just ‘be there’. Ask questions. Someone might really need your help, and just showing that you care can go a long way.

We also need to be aware of the things that we are saying to one another. Social media makes it so easy to sit behind a screen and ‘lash out’ on people. We might not even mean to, but things that are in txt or typed can come across in a different and negative way. Everyone takes and feels things differently, so just be aware of that.

If you are struggling with someone or find yourself gossiping, fix it! We are all facing our own individual and personal struggles, and we don’t need more of that to come from other people. Be kind. Take responsibility when you have done or said something hurtful and apologize. We are here on this earth to cheer one another on and support one another…. and we all need that support! We need those people around us to remind us that we are worth it and loved. So be that person for someone! Pray for the ability to not compare yourself to others and to see people more through Gods eyes. “Comparison is the thief of joy” –like I’ve said before, the world today is full of more self-centeredness, competition, and getting ahead….and with social media heightening everything, comparison and negativity levels have been raising as well. Can’t you feel it? …let’s start to change that. By talking and supporting one another, by doing our best to be kind, by putting others ahead of yourself. We aren’t here to compete. We are here to SUPPORT and LIFT.

Don’t wait to say I love you, to reach out, or to help someone you think might be struggling. Life is too short and why wait?
